100% of our proceeds go to the Ottawa Rotary Home charity.

The home opened its doors in 1982 thanks to funds from club members and the Ontario Ministry of Community and Social Services. Ever since, the Rotary Home has been open thanks to help from volunteers within the Ottawa area. With a vision to create a community that embraces the values of individuals, the Ottawa Rotary Home has a mission to improve the quality of life of caregivers and individuals with disabilities through a family and person-centred approach that is responsive to individual needs offered in a dynamic and flexible way.

Programs

The Ottawa Rotary Home has a Children Respite Program and an Adult Respite Program both of which provides support for families with members that have disabilities restricting their mobility. There is also a program for children with complex medical needs. These programs allow caregivers to have a short break from the extra demands of caring for a child or adult with a disability allowing them to re-energize and continue to do their best.

Approxiately 281 families are registered with the Ottawa Rotary Home respite program and this number will only continue growing. This organization works to ensure all families are supported through caring for a family member with a disability.Unfortunately, since 2013 the Adult Respite program has not been readily available due to a lack of funding. Our hope is that an increase in funding will allow this program to run consistently, thus helping those in need of the program.
